Edward R. Simpson, DSFC #4340 "Silver Fox" passed away on February 24, 2024, of Deptford, NJ. Age 67. Beloved husband of Gigi Simpson (nee Rickenbach). Devoted father of Nicole Pensiero (Connor). Adoring PopPop of Gemma and Isla. Dear brother of the late Billy and Darlene. Faithful companion and best friend of Murphy. Endeared brother-in-law of Ruthann DelTito (Joe), Lee Robberson (Gary), Jill Jakubowski (Jim) and the late Eddie (Amy). Son in law of Ruth Rickenbach and the late Edward. He is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Marian Simpson.
Fox started his career in law enforcement working 8 years at the Burlington Township Police Department before serving his 25 year career as a New Jersey State Trooper. After retirement, he worked as a security guard for the Phillies until working as an Administrative Officer for Corporate Services with the Norcross family and Connor, Stong & Buckelew. He enjoyed being a member of the Oneida Boat Club and Roma Club. He loved spending time in N. Wildwood, fishing, running, working out at the gym, traveling to various destinations and, of course, taking Murphy for walks. He was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan and longtime season ticket holder.
There will be a visitation from 6pm - 8pm Friday, March 1 at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE and from 10am -11am on Saturday, March 2. Followed by a Celebration of Life at 11 am at the funeral home.

My condolences to Gigi and the entire family. I played baseball with Eddie from Little League on through high school at BTHS. He was a fun guy to be around and I call still hear Coach saying "Simpson start running". A great person who served others and the community so well -- RIP Eddie
Eddie and I were gym buddies for over 10 years. I loved see that smile everyday. He inspired me to keep trying knew things and never regret anything.
I will miss that smile, our talks. I will cherish our memories always.

Eddie and his family were neighborhood friends growing up on Lamont Rd. Big Ed, Marion, Eddie, Darlene, and Billy, along with Angel, were a special part of my life growing up. From sledding on the street to playing wiffle ball world series in their backyard, we had a blast. All left us too soon. We'll miss you Ed. Rest in Peace.

Many great thoughts when it comes to Eddie. One of my best friends in our earlier days. Always had the good word to say, treated people with respect even when others did not. I hold him in high regards, always will. Excellent man.
Eddie was my background investigator before getting into the NJSP. He was professional but shiowed me a different side even as an applicant. He came to my graduation and once a Trooper would check up on me a leave very positive notes. Once I was a seasoned guy, I would see him around from time to time and it was always a great experience. His passing is a shock. May he rest in piece ā¦
