Lorraine Marie Carr (nee Laing), formerly of Runnemede, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at the age of 83.

Beloved wife of 53-years to the late Franklyn Bruce Carr. Devoted mother of Deborah Donahue (Paul), Charlotte Cann (David), Rachel Carr, and Douglas Carr. Loving Grandmother of Kaitlyn (Anthony), Brianna (Chris), Paul, Alexandra (Nick), Wyatt, Austin, Keely, and Ryan, as well as Great-Grandmother of Anthony and Asher. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Lorraine is pre-deceased by her parents, Joseph and Lorraine Laing, and siblings, Carol Steoger and Rick Laing.

Lorraine graduated from Audubon High School (1958). She would share fond memories of cheerleading, being a majorette, and a member of the 'Scotties'. Next, she would graduate from Pierce Junior College starting a career as a receptionist leading up to an Executive Secretary for RCA Victor Company and Frostie Root Beer located in Camden, NJ. But what she held dearest of all was her children, grandchildren, and extended family, along with her fur-babies Mitsy and Mylady.

Lastly, our family will take comfort in knowing that her loving grandson Paulie was there to greet her in heaven and hold her hand.

There will be a viewing from 10am until 11am on Saturday, January 20 at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE. Memorial service 11am at the funeral home. Internment is private at the request of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lorraine's memory to the Animal Welfare Association: 509 Centennial Boulevard, Voorhees, NJ 08043 www.awanj.com 856-424-2288

My mom what truly one of a kind who adored her family. As a mother, I understand her more than ever. My mother always tried to do her best. She showed us what strength and perseverance looks like and it lives within us, her children. I take comfort in knowing she is with her dearly departed loved ones especially her dear Bruce, her mother, grandson, Paulie and her kitties. If anyone is deserving of going to Heaven, it is our mother. I hope there is a piano there so you can play your favorite tunes for everyone. I hope there are endless flowers, Mountain Dew, lots of yummy pastries and endless amounts of lipstick đź’„đź’‹

Love you eternally mom. Send me some signs to us when you can, Rachel ❤️

She’s the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street.
She’s the smell of certain foods you remember, flowers you pick, the fragrance of life itself.
She’s the cool hand on your brow when you’re not feeling well.
She’s your breath in the air on a cold winters’ day.
She is the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep, the colors of a rainbow.
She is Christmas morning.
Your mother lives inside your laughter.
She’s the place you come from, your first home.
She’s the map you follow with every step you take.
She’s your first love, your first friend, even your first enemy.
But nothing on Earth can separate you.
Not time.
Not space.
Not even death.

As I live and breathe I am a reflection of you. I look like you, I sound like you, I love sweet treats like you, and I am strong like you. I am forever your little Deborah! I Love you Mom!đź’•

Marie was a strong, independent, lovely lady and so proud of her children and grandchildren. She had fond memories of her working career and hoped one day she would return. She has now rejoined her beloved, Bruce. RIP
