Karen L. Brown, 56, of Blackwood, New Jersey, went home to Jesus on Oct. 18, 2021 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Karen graduated from Kean University with a degree in special education and spent over three decades working as a special education teacher in New Jersey. She began her career at the Larc School in Bellmawr in 1989 and then went on to work for the Camden County Commission of Educational Services. She joined Winslow Township Schools in 2006 and taught at School #6 for the next 15 years before retiring in June.

Both inside and outside the classroom, Karen was known for her incredibly kind heart and ability to make everyone she encountered feel special. She also had a knack for fun that led to adventures such as spending time as a Deadhead, picking her niece up for a concert in a limo and taking trips with her girlfriends to places near and far.

Karen is survived by her sisters Sandy Iannetta and husband John, and Nancy Brown; her niece Jessica Iannetta, and her nephew Michael Iannetta. She is predeceased by her parents, Jim and Phyllis Brown.

Relatives and friends are encouraged to attend a memorial service celebrating her life on Saturday, Nov. 13, at 12 p.m., at the New Providence Presbyterian Church, 1307 Springfield Ave., New Providence, NJ 07974. A reception in the church hall will follow.
