So sorry to hear the news of Lucille's passing. I met Lucille about 8 or 10 years ago via the Words With Friends game on Facebook and we clicked immediately. We played every day and although we never met in person I feel like we were the best of friends - conversing back and forth about kids, family, birthdays, doctor appointments and she was just a wonderful lady to know. When I didn't hear from her online for a while I became worried and managed to look up her address and mailed her a letter, hoping it would reach her in good health. Many thanks to Jessica for mailing me a thoughtful personal letter telling me what happened. There are some people you meet in life (even on the internet !) that make a wonderful impression and Lucille was one of them. She will be remembered with affection.

My husband & I were very lucky to have met Lucille on our honeymoon. We were watching a band play, when she started talking to us. It was instantaneous. We knew were going to love her and Larry. Then we find out they were from 40 minutes away. One night of conversation on South Jersey, Larry’s hatred for Olive Garden, their marriage, and their love of Mexico and their friends they meet up with down there (and of course hugs goodbye as we left the resort) sparked a Facebook friendship, where we would stay in touch for the next year and a half. I was thinking of her today, and went to her page to wish her a Happy New Year. There I saw the news of her passing.

You were in our life for such a small moment, but you made such an impact. I can only imagine the mark you left on your family and friends

To her family, I am sorry for your loss. I’ll be praying for you

Aunt Lucille and Aunt Joanne had the best holiday gatherings and meals. I was patiently waiting for covid restrictions to lift so we could meet again. I try to imagine the comforting embrace our mothers are sharing in the heavens. We are all very blessed to have had her company so much longer than my mother. Aunt Lucille continued as a mother for my brothers and I. Goodbye love.

Tom, your Mom was a great lady and the best neighbor. When we first connected back on Facebook she told me how she still had something I made her in ceramics.. we had fun times on Darien street. She will be watching over you all.. my prayers to you all ❤️

I have many memories of Lucille, and like many, I’m sure, they include the sage advice she’d deliver unapologetically and full of love. But the thing I remember most is from the very day I met her -well, old enough to remember meeting her since technically the first time was when Jessica and I were babies- was how earnestly and whole- heartedly she would give compliments. It could be to family, a friend, or a total stranger, and you would just feel such a genuine warmth in the words she spoke. We were in the middle of Wow Video and she stopped me to ask about my hair and told me how beautiful it was. I was 15. I’ll never forget how she made me feel or the times I’ve seen her spread that warmth and good feeling to others. Lucille, you are missed beyond words and I know your Legacy will live on through the love of Larry and your children, who I am blessed to call family. Jessica Hiltebrand
