Michael P. Murphy, on March 15, 2020, of Runnemede, age 66.
Beloved son of the late Robert C. and May Elinda (nee Lloyd) Murphy Sr. Devoted brother of Agnes Knee (Gerald), Robert C. Murphy Jr. (the late Patricia), Thomas J. Murphy, Richard P. Murphy, Teresa A. Murphy, and David P. Murphy. Dear uncle of 7 and great uncle of 4. Loving nephew of Jack Lloyd (Ethel) and Mary Lousie Burkhauser.
Michael was a volunteer firefighter of Runnemede Station 75 for 50 years and an avid fisherman. He worked for NJ Transit in Turnersville as a Depot Master Dispatcher.
There will be a viewing from 9:30am to 12 noon Saturday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.
Funeral Service 12 noon Saturday at the funeral home.
Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chews Landing.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.

To the Murphy family, Our deepest condolences to you and your family. I’m sorry we where unable to attend! Mike and I have been brothers since 1974. His New Jersey transit family enjoyed spending Friday night at various places.He was loved by many people. So today with a heavy heart god bless you. I’m gonna miss but the pain is gone. Mike was always someone I looked up to. I love fishing and he was a pro! My favourite memory is of a time that I had searched all the stores, even Bass Pro Shop, for this lure I was using to catch walleyes but had got it snagged and lost it. I couldn’t find that lure anywhere and I was telling Mike about it and he had it in the colour I was looking for AND every single size made! And of course he was so generous and gave me the one I was looking for. Of course I caught a walleye with it!
You’ll be missed so much Mike!

Condolences and prayers for the entire Murphy family. I know Mike is catching some giant fish in haven, I will miss all the fishing/boating talks we had over the years. If you need anything we are always right across the street. R.I.P. Mike
