June Downer (nee Brudon), age 83, of Blackwood, formerly of Runnemede, briefly in hospice, on July 9, 2012, of coronary heart disease, after 25 valiant years of brain injury from a massive stroke in 1987.

June was the beloved wife of the late Donald N. Downer, who loved her blue eyes. She is survived by daughters Diane Anderson (Dane), Cindy King (Bob) and Joann Filler (Dennis), her granddaughter and primary caregiver Nicole Denisi (Vincent), six additional grandchildren, Stephanie Donaghy (Michael), Donielle Martorano, Jessica Effrig (Alan), Morgan Anderson, Jeremy Smith and Hillary Anderson and eight great grandchildren.

June devoted her life to her children, her community, and the family business (the former Downer's Green Spot of Runnemede, NJ). She brought special education services to the Runnemede Schools before they were mandated by PL 94-142 and for 30 years served on the Runnemede School Board, most of those years as President.

There will be a viewing from 9 to 11am Thursday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.

Interment Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson.
