Marycatherine D. Simon (nee McPhail), on June 5, 2011 of Runnemede, formerly of Tonawanda, NY. Age 62.


Beloved wife of Lee. Devoted mother of Christiaan M. Daleus of Williamstown, Jaime M. of Runnemede, Colleen J. Abate of Washington Township and Denise D. Sprague of Florida. Loving sister of Donald McPhail and Elizabeth Compton of Tonawanda, NY, Patricia O'Grady of Sanborn, NY, Margaret Howard of Rochester, NY and the late Dennis and Bruce McPhail and Marcia Salamone. Dear grandmother of Michael, Nicholas, Daniel, Amber, Darlene, Tyler, Olivia, Gavin and Jareth. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.


Marycatherine was a graduate of Cardinal O'Hara in Tonawanda, NY. She attended Trociar College in South Buffalo, NY. She was an original member of the Tonawanda Aquettes Synchronized Swimming Team. Marycatherine was employed by the Borough of Runnemede as an EMT and Firefighter. She served as the Rescue Captain and as a member of the Board of Trustees. She was a Life Member of the Runnemede Fire Department and the New Jersey State Fireman's Association.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing Thursday evening from 6 to 9pm and Friday morning from 8:15 to 9:15am at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.


Funeral Mass Friday 10am Holy Child Parish, St. Teresa's RC Church, Runnemede.


Interment Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
