Joseph J. Toomey, "Pop" "Joe", passed away on February 17, 2014, age 90, of Bellmawr, formerly of Camden and Gloucester City.


Beloved husband of the late Ida Toomey (nee Beckman). Devoted father of Joyce MacConnell, Beverly Schotter, Bertha Debus and the late Starr Coleman. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Brother of Shirley Casey.


Joe served honorably in the U.S. Air Force for many years. He was a member of Bellmawr Fire Co. #1.


Joe worked for the Borough of Bellmawr as Superintendent for Sewer and Water, retiring in 1986. He was very active at St. Rita of Cascia Parish, Mary, Mother of the Church.


There will be a viewing from 8:15 to 10:15am Saturday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.


Funeral Mass 11am at St. Rita of Cascia Parish, Mary, Mother of the Church, Bellmawr.


Entombment New St. Mary's Mausoleum, Bellmawr.
