Karlton ("Karl") Lee Ivins, age 82, of Somerdale, died suddenly at home on August 2, 2011. Born in Runnemede. Karl was the ninth of ten children.


Beloved husband of the late Marie (nee Johnston), Christine (nee McKendrie) and Shirley "Bunnie" (nee Lee). Devoted father of Lindsay Lee Ivins of NJ, Terry Lee Ivins (Karen) of ID and Ronald Lee Ivins (Cindy) of NJ and stepfather of Joyce Grimmer (Bob) of WY. Loving grandpop of Julia Lee Ivins. Preceded in death by his parents Eldridge H. Ivins and Alice May (nee Williams). Dear brother of Donald P. Ivins (Dolores) of AK, Paul M. Ivins of NJ and the late Doris G. Woolston, Margaret K. Veevers, Edward F. Jordan, Eldridge H. Ivins Jr., William H. Ivins, Reynolds A. Ivins and Charles A. Ivins, Sr. Brother-in-law of Dolores Ivins, Virginia Macelis, Wanda Ivins and Emma Ivins. Also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.


Karl was a retired union carpenter, Local 8, specializing in drywall construction. It was his wish to donate his body to science for research. A Memorial Service will be scheduled at the convenience of the family.
