James R. Hicks, Sr. on January 1, 2014 of Bellmawr. Age 79.


Beloved husband of the late Joyce (nee Williams). Devoted father of Janet Hicks, James R. Hicks, Jr., and Joyce Baume (Brian). Loving Pop Pop of Grace, Heather, Jennifer, Melissa, James A., James R., and Brian Jr. Dear great grandpop of William, Linnea, Emma, and Gavin. Loving brother of Margaret Hogate and George "Bud" Hicks (Lois). Also survived by brother-in-law of Michael Schultz, nieces, nephews and his cats: Oliver, Eddie and Jackson.


James proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Boston. He was a retired member of Local 222 in Camden. He was also a member of the Bellmawr Police Reserves and the USTA.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing Sunday evening from 6 to 8pm and Monday morning from 10 to 11am at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.


Funeral Service Monday morning 11am at the funeral home.


Interment Friendship Cemetery, Buena, NJ.
