Allen "Lowell" Hubbs, Sr., a lifelong resident of Gloucester City, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 11, 2013 at the age of 79.


Beloved husband of 56 years of Myrtle (nee Lickfeld). Son of the late Allen and Anna Hubbs. Devoted father of Carol McGrath (Gerald), Allen, Jr. (Terri), Eric (Jennifer), Jerald (Linda) and Scott. Dear brother of Joseph, George, Nancy Quieti, Edward and the late Hubert and Richard. Also survived by nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.


Lowell was a 1952 graduate of Gloucester City High School. He also served in the US Navy during the Korean War. After working at the NY Shipyard, he worked for many years in the food industry and retired as plant supervisor from Excel Corporation.


Lowell was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a former member of the Gloucester City Jaycees, the Highland Park Volunteer Fire Dept. and Arwames Odd Fellows Lodge #37.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing from 6 to 8pm Sunday eve and 9 to 10am Monday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.


Funeral Service 10am Monday at the funeral home.


Interment Eglington Cemetery, 320 Kings Hwy., Clarksboro.


Family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made in Lowell's memory to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Dr., Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
