Robert T. Russo, Sr., 75, of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, formerly of Clementon, NJ, born and raised in South Philadelphia, passed away on April 26, 2013.


Loving father of Dr. Donna Marie Albano (Frank) and Robert T. Russo, Jr. (Jennifer). Devoted grandfather of Amanda Russo who was his best medicine by far. Dear brother of Rich Russo (the late Jane). Bob was predeceased by his wife, Maryann Russo (nee Garagozzo).


Bob was the first producer of Eagles Football for WIP Radio in 1967 and the first music director of a country format in N.Y. for WHN in 1970. He was executive producer for WHN from 1972-1973 and the East coast promotion director for Lifesong Records in 1975.


Bob was also executive producer for the Eagles and Flyers on WIP in 1980, the last music director/asst. program director for WIP in 1981, the first producer for Philadelphia Stars Football in 1982, promotion director WSNI from 1982-1983, last program director for WRDR in 1999 and executive sales rep for Comcast sales in 2001.


He was Highlanders/Delmont First Baseman from 1953-1958 and a published author of Waiting For The '32, a memoir.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation Tuesday morning from 10 to 11am at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.


Funeral Service 11am at the funeral home.


Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chews Landing.
