Charles E. Crain, Jr., on July 31, 2013, of Gibbsboro. Age 81.


Beloved husband of Marie Reilly (nee McLachlan) and the late Margaret (nee Campbell). Devoted father of Michael J. Crain (Joan), Charles E. Crain (Joan), Joan Marie Blue, Robert Crain, and Carolann Reyna. Dear grandfather of 26 and great grandfather of 9. Loving brother of Jeramiah, Edward (Mary), Kay Master, and the late Robert. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.


Mr. Crain proudly served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict, during which he was awarded a Purple Heart. He served with the Gibbsboro Police Department for 23 years.


Mr. Crain was one of the founders of the Lindenboro Boys Club and a member of American Legion Post 371 (Gibbsboro), the Korean War Vets Association, the Woodland String Band, and the S. Philadelphia String Band. He was also an avid bowler.


There will be a viewing from 9am to 11am Monday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.


Funeral service 11am Monday at the funeral home.


Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin.
