Peter Derkotch, of Bellmawr, NJ, formerly of Phila., PA, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the age of 86.


Beloved husband of Virginia (nee Seider) Derkotch. Devoted father to Pete F. Derkotch, Linda Gigliobianco (Leonard), and Jayne Fedore (Richard). Loving Grandpop to John, Jr., Michael and Peter Placyk, and Richard, Melissa, and Cecilia Fedore and great grandfather to John E., Willa, Petal, and Michael Placyk. Dear brother of Annie Manney and the late Helen, Paul, Jimmy, Tony, Harry, Mike, and Mary. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.


Mr. Derkotch proudly served with the US Navy during World War II. He worked for Herman Hassingers, Inc. and Gross Metals in Philadelphia for many years before retiring in 1990. Peter liked to hunt and target shoot and was a member of the Indian Mills Antler Club. He loved watching the Lawrence Welk Show, listening to music, and was a wonderful storyteller.


Peter was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend and will be sadly missed. He was a true gentleman until the end, saying good-bye to all his family and friends.
