William E. Nordt, Jr., on February 8, 2014, of Mt. Ephraim. Age 83. Beloved husband of Dolores (nee Okeson) for 61 years. Devoted father of Diana Lucia (Joseph), William E., III, MD (Dianne) and Lori Nordt, DVM. Loving grandfather of Devon & Dannon Lucia, and Oriana, William, IV and Eudora Nordt. Dear brother of Ralph Nordt (Gladys).

After graduating from Audubon High School in 1948, Bill completed Officer Candidate School in 1951 and entered the Army. He married Dolores Okeson of Merchantville in 1953 and began working as a tool and die maker at RCA for the next 11 years. In 1964, Bill started his business, Nordt Engraving Co., which later expanded to become Nordt Precision Metal Mfg. This company remains owned and operated by he and his wife after 50 years. The two have shared an office and tirelessly built a business known for superior American workmanship.

Bill received the Army Commendation Medal and in 1974 retired from the Army Reserves as a Lt. Colonel. He served on the Mt. Ephraim Board of Education for 11 years. He was also a 32 Degree Mason for 46 years.

Bill enjoyed fishing and hunting, however, his greatest pleasure was to ensure the happiness and success of his family. His family is grateful for his love, guidance and quiet strength.

There will be a viewing from 10am to 1pm Friday at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.

Funeral Service 1pm at the funeral home.

Interment Camden County Veteran's Section of Harleigh Cemetery, Camden.
