Thelma Garner (nee Dermond), on February 24, 2012, of Sicklerville. Age 88.


Beloved wife of the late Richard "Moe". Loving mother of Richard "Rico" Garner, Jr. of Telluride, CO and Diane Chando and her husband John of Blackwood. Devoted grandmother of Alisha James, Theresa "Teri" Chando and Adam Chando and great-grandmother of Cassidy and Clancy. Dear sister of William J. Dermond (Joan), Charles A. "Bud" Dermond (June), Joyce Marynowicz Root (Louis) and the late Joan E. Mohr and Theodore Mohr.


Mrs. Garner was a 1945 graduate of Glassboro State Teachers College. She was a very dedicated kindergarten teacher from 1947 to 1987 at Downing School. She was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church. Mrs. Garner was also a member of the RYAA and the Friday Niters. She was an avid gardener.


There will be a viewing from 6 to 9pm Friday eve and 10 to 11am Saturday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.


Funeral Service 11am Saturday at the funeral home.


Interment private.


Family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made in Mrs. Garner's memory to St. John's Episcopal Church, 1704 Old Black Horse Pike, Chews Landing, NJ 08012.
