Robert J. Wright Sr. (Bob), age 79, passed away in Gloucester County, New Jersey on November 16, 2023. Bob was an incredible father, grandfather, husband, brother and a friend who will be missed by all.
Bob was born in Ocean City, New Jersey and spent several years residing in Bellmawr, New Jersey and Beverly, Massachusetts. Bob attended South Philadelphia High School and Penn State University. Bob was a veteran of the Pennsylvania National Guard and a Reserve in the United States Army. Bob spent numerous years working at Boeing and the Philadelphia Naval Yard before retiring from the United States Government. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, cheering on Philadelphia sports teams and watching Penn State football.
Survivors include Bob Wright Jr. (Lisa); Christopher Wright (Brian) and Shawn Wright (Dylan); Grandchildren Jack, Cassidy and Taylor. Kathleen Wright, mother of Bob's children and family and friends in and around Beverly, Massachusetts. Bob was preceded in death by parents Clyde and Edna Wright, brother Clyde Wright Jr. and wife Pamela Holleran Wright.
There will be a visitation on Saturday, November 25, 2023 from 10am to 12 Noon at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE. The United States Army will begin military honors at 12 Noon and a memorial service will follow.

With a heavy heart Jack Gorman and I have to say goodbye to our dear Bob. He will be missed. We spent many years listening to his jokes and if you knew Bob no one could tell a joke like him. Rest in Peace my friend.
I always enjoyed talking with Bob at the different family events over the years. He was a really good storyteller, often sharing stories about growing up and working in South Philly. His best ones were always about his 3 boys when they were younger. My favorite memory of Bob was the first time I met him at Tootsies in Nashville. On our way back to the hotel, Bob, my brother Dan and I got in trouble for jaywalking right in front of a police officer. I’m going to miss him and my heart goes out to his family and loved ones.
