Robert A. Gillis, "Dusty", on December 19,2022, of Bellmawr. Age 83.
Beloved husband of 61 years to Jean C. Gillis (nee Welsh). Devoted father of Butch Gillis, Barry Gillis (Lisa), and Matthew Gillis (Dawn). Loving Pop Pop of Jake and Emily. Dear brother of Thomas Gillis (Edie) and Maryanne Moore. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Dusty always loved to draw and was very good at it. In his later years his passion became woodcarving and painting them. He carved all kinds of fish, flamingos, hummingbirds and turtles. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Dusty Gillis was one-of-a-kind. Just ask Jeanie. The whole family always made me feel so welcome.
Dusty was most generous and I could not leave there without something he created - a painting, a wood carving, or something he welded. A wooden horse my favorite. All of these things are very much cherished.
Dusty will certainly be missed by me and my family and we send our love, appreciation, and utmost sympathy to his.
We will miss that devilish smile....xo
Two family’s joined together from childhood friendship to forever family . Dusty and (dad) Butch are together again and I bet they are having a blast as they always did with other before them . What a awesome person Dusty was …My favorite memories are dancing in the living room to oldies and every Friday as a teenager he would bring me a silver dollar , a 50 cent piece and roll of quarters . I’d try to pay him out of my babysitting money but he wouldn’t take it ❤️ And pictures of my babies he took that I will forever treasure .. so many more memories I’ll keep safe in my heart .. from the Welsh’s to the Gillis’s thank you for our time together .. My mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Carl THOMPSON loved your husband like a son.
My father loveed going rabbits and deer hunting with Dusty and Butchy.
We as kids ( Laurel Place ) always had so much fun and love to be around Dusty.
Even as I write this many great and a wonderful thoughts, too many to mention come into my mind.
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers this Christmas season.
