Matthew J. Barbone, Jr. on February 26, 2022, of Darby PA, formerly of South Philadelphia. Age 69.
Devoted father of Matthew Barbone III and Jillian Barbone. Loving grandfather of Brianna, Matthew IV, Samuel, Gianna Juzwiak, and Julianne Juzwiak. Also survived by the mother of his children Catherine Burke (Verrecchio) and his companion Sarah Pitts.
There will be a visitation Friday 11am to 12noon at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.
Memorial service 12noon at the funeral home.
Interment private.

Matt was my husband’s Frank’s best friend. They were childhood friends on 13th St in South Philly. Matt always called Frank on his birthday and holidays. When Frank died in 2019 Matt would send me texts on my birthday. This year I realized that Matt missed my birthday but I had no idea why until last night when I sent him a birthday wish on his phone and Facebook page.. I googled his name and sadly found his obituary. To Matt’s family I send my deepest condolences. Matt was a faithful friend and a wonderful man.
Oh cuz Matty. Been thinking of you lately. I hope you greeted my mom (your Aunt June) when she made her transition a month after your return to pure positive energy. Always &forever in our hearts. I'm sorry we weren't notified. Mom really appreciated your phone calls. Condolences & 💞 hugs to your family.
I am going to miss Matt. I first met him when he was a crossing guard and I was walking my dogs. I helped him out, picking up scripts at the pharmacy and taking him to the food bank. He would always call on the Holidays.
