GLOUCESTER TWP. - Ralph E. Vance, Jr., of Gloucester Twp., New Jersey, born on August 5, 1956 (age 65), passed peacefully surrounded by immediate family on January 16, 2022.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Margaret (Brennan) Vance, his son Ralph E. Vance, III (Allison Scheuren Vance), and his two daughters Joan and Jessica. Loving Pop of Cole, Brady, Ashton, and Emerson. Preceded in death by his parents, Ralph E. Vance, Sr. and Vivian T. (Sonsini) Vance and his loving in-laws Francis L. Brennan, Sr. and Joan S. Brennan. Loving brother to Carol DeWitt (Dan), Vivian Warner (George), Kathleen Nahill (John), and James Vance. Also, survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Ralph was a devoted husband and father who worked tirelessly as a truck driver to provide for his family, and he cherished his dog Champ. He was proud to be a member of Teamsters Local 107 and was employed for many years by Yellow Freight. Ralph was a Harley Davidson enthusiast, and an original charter member of the Gloucester Twp. Post 281 Sons of American Legion (SAL). He went on to become a charter member of the American Legion Riders, of which his road name was Nomad. He was also an auxiliary member of the Glendora VFW Post 8714. Ralph was the "go-to" guy who could fix anything and everything. He was always willing to lend a hand, was the life of the party, and captain of the boat (Captain Happy).

Upon retirement, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of traveling to Florida in the winters with the love of his life Margie and his beloved dog Bubba. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching Westerns, and playing Solitaire on the computer while listening to old country music.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 20th from 6PM to 8PM and on Friday, January 21st from 9:15AM to 10:15AM at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE. Hey Margie…… it’s Steve, you know, the Montsenior. I’m so sorry to learn about Ralph. It’s not often that someone comes into your life with an impact as great as you and Ralph had on Colleen and I. The time we shared together will never be forgotten. I hate the problems that finances, distance and time does brings that have kept us apart. We think of you, Bubba and Ralph every day and always will. We hope to contact you soon ok.
With love,
Steve, Colleen, Charles and Chi-litta

We are saddened by the passing of Ralph,
Our thoughts and prayers go out to your entire family, we always laughed when we got together.
He was always willing to help and could fix anything, I’ll never forget the time myself and Ray were going camping in my Rv and it was running bad almost didn’t get out of Runnemede when Ray told me to turn around and go to Ralph’s.
He got under the hood and fixed the problem with in 20 minutes we were able to go camping, I always appreciated that.

He will be missed

J Jeep. on Jan 18, 2022

I have fond memories of Ralph all the way back to grade school at OLPH, through MSHS and after as he worked for my brother Al for a while. Ralph was always a tough guy on the outside but I found him to be engaging and glib. Since I moved to Texas 40 years ago we did not keep in touch but it is always sad to see a classmate called home to soon. My sincerest condolences to the family from all the Carlino's. God Bless.
