James R. Cross, age 74, of Williamstown, passed suddenly and unexpectedly at home on January 11, 2022.

Beloved husband of Linda (nee Lloyd) for 28 years. Devoted father of Sherri Cross-Murphy and Sharon Cross. Stepfather of Jimmy (Erika) and John (Danielle) Haaf. Loving pop-pop of Hannah, Ethan, Paige, Avery and Raegan. Dear brother of Terri Alcorn and the late Carol Mader. Son of the late James and Irene. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Jim was truly unique, well respected and his company was thoroughly enjoyed by so many. He will be remembered as an amazing father, devoted husband, family patriarch and a steadfast friend. He always took the time to listen, offered solid advice and never hesitated to tell you how proud he was or how much he loved you. His laughter and quick wit was infectious.

Jim was a former member of the Lions Club. He had vast knowledge of antiques and he thoroughly enjoyed the treasure hunt of buying and selling. His antique booths in Days of Olde, Smithville NJ were frequented by repeat customers, many who respected his knowledge and enjoyed his banter.

He had a career in telecommunications that spanned decades, including Bell Telephone, Lucent Technologies, Camden Co College, The Franklin Mint and The County of Gloucester, where he retired.

Jim proudly served as a United States Naval Serviceman as a young adult.

His departure leaves a large void in the many left behind. He will be remembered with love, affection and respect.

Please bring your memories and stories about Jim to share with his family.

A viewing will be held from 11am to 1pm on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.

Memorial Service 1pm at the Funeral Home.

Interment private at the request of the family.

CandleTo Linda and the Entire Cross Family,
Jimmy and I were so shocked and saddened to hear that Jim had passed away. He was a wonderful , caring, funny man. Always a smile and a joke. He was a good and loving Son.
We lived across the street from his Parents house - even though Jim And Irene have passed away, they are always in our
hearts and memories. That’s how we met Jim and Linda and the entire family. That’s how we fell in love with all of them.
We would always shovel the snow for Jim and Irene, it was fun and you would always get invited into their house for some whiskey and Family stories.
Jim would often drop off a bottle of his Dad’s favorite whiskey at our house as a thank you.
We invited Jim and Linda to my husbands 50th Birthday party; Jim said he had a great time partying with us and our crazy friends.
Jim was a bright light in this world and he will be truly missed. God Bless Jim as he is reunited with his Parents and Sister. God please bring peace and comfort to Linda and the entire Family. Amen. Sending you all our love and prayers. Diane and Jimmy Naphys

Jim was my classmate at St. Teresa's -- class of 1961. He was a nice guy, and I'm pleased to see he had a wonderful life. A loss for all of us now.

CandleMy deepest sympathy to the entire Cross family. I remember Jimmy, as we called him because I lived next to the Cross family on Fern Ave Glendora, NJ for 42 years. I grew up with Terry as we are the same age being the best of friends. You could not have asked for better neighbors than the Cross family.
