Francis Patrick "Pat" McIlhinney, on October 17, 2021, of Cherry Hill and Ocean City, NJ, formerly of Philadelphia PA. Age 79.

Born in Philadelphia on March 24, 1942 to Francis X. McIlhinney and Helen Green. Pat attended grade school at St. Francis of Assisi in Germantown PA, high school at St. Joseph's Prep, and graduated from Villanova University.

Beloved husband of Sandi (nee Craig) for 56 years. Devoted father of Sean and his wife Heather and Patrick and his wife Lisa. Loving Pop and Pop Pop of Patrick, Matthew, Molly, Connor, McKeith, Julia, and Julian. Dear brother of Joan and Lee and brother-in-law of Margie Craig. Also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pat's wife of 56 years, Sandi was the love of his life. A close second were his two children, Patrick and Sean, and their wives Lisa and Heather and his 7 grandchildren and his 2 sisters, Joan and Lee. Other loves included Ocean Colony friends, St. Joe's Prep friends, Wexford Leas friends - his neighborhood of 45 years, Germantown childhood friends, appraiser friends, tennis friends, taking cruises to the Caribbean, winters in Florida, watching sunsets & sports, analyzing and discussing stocks and politics, and all things Villanova, his beloved alma mater. Some adjectives used to describe Pat by his loved ones are brilliant, analytical, objective and non-judgmental, loyal, generous kind hearted spirit, wonderful sense of humor, and athletic and competitive. Pat was loved by and will be sorely missed by all who were fortunate to be a part of his 360.

There will be a Celebration of Life memorial service to be determined later.

Donations may be made in Pat's memory to the Animal Welfare Association, 509 Centennial Blvd, Voorhees, NJ 08043.

Sandi,
You may know that Pat and I knew each other long before we became real estate appraisers when he was working for his uncle John selling real estate in Northeast Philadelphia as was I for a different company.
We “grew up” in the appraisal business together, he at Jackson-Cross and me at Albert M. Greenfield . With parallel careers, I believe we were alike in many ways but Pat was truly an outstanding individual and I am proud to have known him both personally and professionally for as long as I did. I hope you can find comfort knowing the level of respect he commanded among his peers in the appraisal profession.
Please accept my sincere condolences during this most difficult time.

I got to know Pat while coaching his son, Sean, in high school. Pat was such a proud dad! He never missed a race! Pat was definitely a smart guy and by the time Sean graduated, I believe he understood the sport better than I did. I've joked with Sean that his father was the best assistant coach I ever had! More than anything, Pat was simply a good man. He cared deeply. He will be missed by all of us who knew him.

Without a doubt, Pat was the true gentleman as a friend and as a real estate appraiser. I knew Pat for over 40 years and what I got from him is hard to put into words. If he did not know something he learned it and passed it on to me. You will be missed by all who knew you. My sympathies to Sandy and your family. Bruce Leff October 21, 2021

It was with great sorrow that I read Pat’s notice in the Inquirer. I had not seen Pat for years.
At the Prep he was a better math student than me and certainly a better basketball player than me. Most important he was a great person.
My condolences to his family. Another member of the great class of ‘59 passes.

Pat's Family,
I met Pat at St. Francis School in Germantown where He was an excellent student and a good athlete especially in basketball and baseball. He developed his athletic skills at The Germantown Boys Club. Pat attended St. Joseph Prep which its well know for it's academic and athletic programs. On Saturday Afternoon,He was a great basketball competitor at Fernhill Park in Germantown where he had many friends. He attended Villanova where He was A Math Major. During this time, He earned money by being A Math Tutor. He met The Love of His Life,Sandy, while in College. He always told me how He was so blessed to have such a wonderful wife for so many years. He loved His Boys,Patrick and Sean and their wives along with their lovable children, He luxuriated when He was with His Family. Pat had a long career in Real Estate and when He retired,He became An Astute Investor especially as An Option Writer. I was amazed how He was such an extraordinary investor. He attributed this skill to His Math Ability. He was a great friend with whom I never had an argument and we knew each other for nearly 75 years. We did not always agree and He would persuade me to his position in a lawyerly fashion. He was generous especially when we went to dinner and He was well liked at restaurants in Cherry Hill. I was privileged and honored to have known such A Very Good Man for 7 decades.
" May F, Patrick McIlhinney Rest In Eternal Peace."
