My heart is sad having just found out Marian has passed from this world .I only just met her a year ago . We met in the elevator of her apartment building and she called me her angel when I agreed to clean for her. She was such a delight to be around and we both were fond of art and had that instant soul connection.Marian was looking forward to going to the Van Gogh, emmersive experience with me on Sept 30 th. I hope she is with me in spirit to enjoy it from heaven. For the short time I knew her I felt blessed to have her in my life. Sending love and prayers to her family. We had looked up an artist together on one of my visits and we were curious of the likeness to Jesus that some had said was amazing. The artist was Akaine Kramiri. I hope Marian gets to sit with Jesus .

THE DASH
by Linda Ellis

I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on the tombstone from the beginning… to the end.

He noted that first came the date of birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time they spent alive on earth and now only those who loved them know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own, the cars… the house… the cash. What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard; are there things you’d like to change? For you never know how much time is left that still can be rearranged.

To be less quick to anger and show appreciation more and love the people in our lives like we’ve never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile… remembering that this special dash might only last a little while.

So when your eulogy is being read, with your life’s actions to rehash, would you be proud of the things they say about how you lived your dash?

To ‘Live Your Dash’ means to live every day to the fullest. Live for this moment that you have right now. Appreciate the simple joys in life that are right in front of you every day. Sometimes we forget to be grateful for what we have in life: our family, our friends, our health. Take time to realize how many things in your life you have that you are thankful for. Cherish every minute you have with your loved ones, be kind to others, and give back when you can.

They say it’s important to live every day like it could be our last because we never know when that final day will come. Thinking of what you’ve done so far in this lifetime, are you happy with how you’ve lived your dash? Start living your life for today, and let this poem remind you to live, to love, and to make the most of your dash.
Marty lived her dash well and that is what everyone will remember about her.

She was the best teacher I ever had. She made learning such an experience, it never felt like work. Learning with her was fun. She truly will be missed by anyone that knew her.

Marian was truly wonderful volunteer and cuddler in our medical daycare. We were so lucky to have her dedicate her time week after week. She brought so much joy to the babies and staff. We will truly miss her fun loving personality and infectious smile.

Dear Jeff , Brian and and all the Ranieri family,
You all know the pain I am in right now having lost my best friend of 62 years. the heartbreak of not being able to talk to her ,and be with her every Monday in Prayer group , but she will be praying for everyone . We shared so much and I just keep trying to focus on the fact she was with her wonderful sisters, at the shore she loved and went peacefully. She is with Vince and I will love them both forever .Rest in Peace

Dear Brian, Jeff & Ranieri sisters,

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Marian was our neighbor, my babysitter, and then she and Vince trusted me to babysit their boys. She was an incredible woman and I cherish her friendship. May you find comfort in your memories and always remember how much she loved all of you.

CandleMy fondest memories of Marian is having the opportunity to work with her in Volz school. Many laughs and good times. She always had a smile on her face and loved the kids. My children remember always going to Mrs. Lillies' house on Halloween for her famous soft pretzels.
You will be deeply missed and I LOVE you very much!! Rest In Peace.

Brian and Jeff - So sorry to hear the news…my heart is broken for you and your families. I hope you find comfort in all the wonderful memories you have of your mom. Rest In Peace, Mrs. Lilllie and thanks for my childhood Runnemede memories of greatest house on the block, soft pretzels/big candy bars on Halloween and the best snow parties ever.

I met Marian Lillie through our now defunct book group, Happy Bookers. I was in charge of sending out the reminder notice about our upcoming meetings. At the same time, I was in charge of staffing my church thrift shop with volunteers, and sent out my monthly request for volunteers availability. As the result of a lucky (for me) fluke, the notice for thrift shop volunteers availability found its way to Marian’s inbox. She sent me a reply saying, “I don’t know why I got this, but I’d like to be a volunteer”. Marian helped every Friday afternoon in the Grace Thrift Shop In Haddonfield until we had to close for the pandemic on March 13, 2020. She was an absolute joy to have around. Marian was so interesting and upbeat and full of life. She was so very proud of her family especially her beloved grandchildren. She made every person who entered feel welcome and special. Nothing I asked her to help with was ever a problem.

I called her last week to tell her that we were finally re-opening on September 10, 2021. She told me that she was going to her sister’s weekend in Ocean City from 9/11 - 9/18 but to put her on the schedule for the following Friday. So like Marian - right there when you needed her! I forgot to mention that after a year or two of volunteering with the thrift shop every Friday afternoon, she volunteered as a “baby hugger” for babies with various disabilities which she did on Friday mornings.

I am so blessed to have known this loving, remarkable woman who I and my fellow TS Volunteers will miss so much.

We unexpectedly lost my precious Grandmother, Marian. She was kind and vibrant and one of the most passionate people I’ve ever met. Her deep love of the arts, education, nature, and adventure was infectious and helped to make me who I am today.

My Grandmother was a bright mind. An elementary school teacher for thirty years, she was first in her family to go to college. When her father discovered that his daughter wanted an education, he took her application and angrily threw it into tomato sauce. She retrieved the application and submitted the red stained sheets. After three decades of teaching elementary school, she retired so that one of her former students, who was having difficulty finding work, could take her job. Her resilience and selflessness is what most will remember her by.

To her, no one was a stranger. I feel incredibly blessed to have been prayed for and held by her all the years of my life. Beginning at a young age, she would regularly bring me to museums, ballets, and musicals in Philadelphia. She knew the power of the arts. She knew it was meant to be shared. A few months ago, she sent me a video. The video stated that in every poem, painting, and film, we experience Jesus. The original Creator is the source of our creativity. She knew her Creator and she knew what He created her for. Her life was marked by the beauty of the Gospel and the world will never be the same because of

We were very sad to hear of Marian’s passing. She was always so kind to our family when we lived on Williams Avenue and we always loved having her as our babysitter. We offer our condolences to the Lillie family and the Ranieri family. May she rest in eternal peace.
