When I met your dad I felt what a warm person he was. He always made me feel welcome. I loved seeing how happy he was when you got married Carrie. And then again when we saw him at your new house in the mountains. He was so proud of you. He will continue to look down from heaven and be proud of all that you have accomplished.

Dear Lenore, Carrie, Allison, Ashley, Lyndsey and Beloved Grandchildren,

It has been our pleasure – and honor – to know Dave and Lenore for 53 years. We always enjoy being in their company. It all began with Marianne meeting them at Camden County Community College.

Dave was a great family man – happily married for almost 50 years and a loving father who loved and cared greatly for their four daughters and eight grandchildren. Driving back and forth across the country to visit or help one of their daughters was almost as easily as going to the corner store for some ice cream. Our families have many memories together, both in tough times and in happy times as well

We had so many great times with Dave and Lenore, travelling together on vacations or just small get-togethers or parties with our mutual friends. You never knew what to expect with Dave! He was always the life of the party with his stories, jokes and even his everyday “just Dave being Dave” behavior. One of his favorite “go-to” tricks on the un-initiated was playing his Itchy, Itchy Poo game, where he would mark up an unsuspecting person’s face with ashes or shoe polish while supposedly explaining the rules of the game.

Some of the other more memorable times include Dave stranding brother Arthur on Dave’s roof for an hour when Humpy, dejected because of not being invited to the party, climbed a ladder and began throwing firecrackers down the chimney. Another was when, on a cruise to Bermuda, Dave and Lenore had a little spat. Dave decided he was going to fly home, so we found a little toy airplane in town and put it under his pillow that evening, providing him his only means to depart.

When you talk about larger than life, that was truly DAVID - but especially his heart (yes, DAVID, when considering his innate tendency toward helping others)! He was always willing/ready to provide a helping hand in any way. DAVID was an especially kind man, with a bent towards helping those less fortunate than himself, with his only return being knowing that he had positively impacted someone’s life that day.

Dave, his smiling face, his sense of humor and his antics will be sadly missed (but always loved and remembered) by all of his friends, family and those many people he has helped in making this world a place because of DAVID!

God Bless You Dave / DAVID!
