I cannot remember a childhood vacation that did not include Carl. Our families did everything together. Even every Sunday in the spring and summer after church we went somewhere. Carl was always our entertainment. Always happy, nothing bothered him even if it meant he got into trouble, he just laughed it off. Will laugh forever over the night he broke the bed jumping on it while singing to the height of his voice. Adulthood did not change him, no matter what pain he endured he always had a happy smile for you when you talked to him. He had a way of welcoming you that you felt the welcome. I know right now between Carl, his mom, and mine heaven is laughing a lot harder. Love your cuz Rita

Sending deepest condolences to Mamo's family and friends.grew up with him on 49th St. Such a beautiful soul .always a smile on his face and a warm hello. He truly appreciated life and lived it to the max. I know his spirit is instilled in his children and that will carry them thru this difficult time. No greater gift his kids could give him than to live their lives with the same passion n joy he did. God bless n love to his family. There'll be some beautiful music behind those Pearly gates. ❤

My blood cousin but truly more like my "brother" from another Mother. We grew up as kids together, 49th Street'ers all the way. We began singing together on the corner when we were around 10 years old initially singing duets together then eventually singing with many groups over our 60+ years together. He was the Matre'd/manager/operator of my South Philly Cent' Anni Restaurant and was loved by all. He called all the ladies either "hun" or "doll" and made everyone feel at home. He was a hell of a cook/chef and one of the best dancers anyone could ever imaging. Like a butterfly on his feet taking after his father Mamo Sr. Such a funny person possessing a great sense of humor and an avid lover of animals. Mamo couldn't harm a fly even if he tried. I was the best man at his wedding with Linda and he was my best man at my wedding. We did speak often but not often enough. He was resilient, No one could endure the pain and suffering he went through but he just moved on never wanting to burden anyone. A class act that can never be followed. He is now in a better place, peaceful and in God's hands. You will be missed my all, but not more than me........Love you Cuz, Frankie

Many of fond memories growing up with Mamo. Hanging out, going to dances and of coarse hanging on the corners down 49th street singing and harmonizing. RIP my friend.

I went to school with Mamo at Tommy More. I got to be good friends with him. When three of my friends and I thought we were good at street corner harmony, Mamo set us straight. He put together a version of Pennies from Heaven and taught us how to do it. I’ll never for it or him for teaching us. God bless you Carl they gained a great guy and a beautiful voice in heaven
