Ruth S. Helmer (nee Savage), on November 15, 2010, of Magnolia, formerly of Albany, GA. Age 96.


Beloved wife of the late Alexander Fleming, Walter Pereau and Richard Helmer. Devoted mother of Sherry Snyder (Ernie), Wayne Fleming (Linda), Denise Pereau (Frederik Vijzelman) and Walter Pereau. Loving grandmother of Kim Sandquist (Jim), Brenda Murphy (Butch), Justin and Gianna Foschini and the late Bonnie Snyder. Dear sister of Jean Birch, Clara Birch, Irma Hudson and the late Muriel, Katie, Lawrence, Petey and Margaret. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.


Mrs. Helmer was an active member engaged in numerous charitable efforts for the First Baptist Church of Magnolia, the First Baptist Church of Albany, GA and the Laurel Springs Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener, a master craftswoman and a loving homemaker.


There will be a viewing from 10 to 11am Thursday morning at Laurel Springs Baptist Church, Laurel Springs. Funeral Service 11am in church. Interment Harleigh Cemetery, Camden.
