Claire G. Lyons (nee Dougherty), on June 22, 2012, after a 17 year battle with lung cancer, of Pitman, NJ, formerly of Philadelphia, PA and Ocean City, NJ. Age 78.

Beloved wife of 56 years to William F. Lyons. Devoted mother of Mary Alyce Gorczynski (Ed), Colleen Lyons (Mick Popowcer)) and Frances Lyons. Loving Nan of eight and great Nan of ten. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Daughter of the late James and Alice Dougherty. Preceded in death by her five sisters and four brothers.

Claire was a loan officer at the Police & Fire Credit Union for over 30 years. She loved spending time with her family, especially in Sea Isle City. She was a devoted volunteer at the Padre Pio Shrine in Hammonton, NJ.

There will be a viewing from 8:30 to 10:15am Thursday at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.

Funeral Mass 11am at Holy Child Parish, St. Maria Goretti RC Church, Runnemede.

Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing.
